Charities

The Bourbon Chase is proud of the fact that we raise over $150,000 annually for our three charities of choice.  In fact we are so dedicated to their cause that we devote 10% of our team slots to these charities to assist in accomplishing their missions.  When your team commits to running as a “charitable team,” your entry into the relay is not only guaranteed, but also free! We encourage you to learn more about the wonderful organizations below and to make your miles mean more by signing up to support them through your experience in The Bourbon Chase. These coveted team slots belong to the charities.  Therefore, there is no need to contact the relay office; contact the charity of your choice directly.

  • THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. Since its founding in 1949, LLS has invested more than $600 million in leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and Hodgkin's disease research.

LLS-funded research has led to key advances in understanding all types of cancer and has helped produce new treatments to enhance and prolong the lives of cancer patients worldwide. Innovations in cancer treatment over the years have included radiation and chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation and new targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal ones.

By committing to raise funds for LLS, you are partnering with an organization that will one day find a cure for cancer!

  • NATIONAL HOSPICE FOUNDATION

This year, whether you are an entire team or just one person on a team, you can support hospice care as part of the race. Through the National Hospice Foundation’s Run to Remember program, you can dedicate your race to the memory of a loved one. Run to Remember will send you a technical race shirt with your loved one’s name printed on the back.

You’ll raise funds with your personal fundraising page provided by RTR. You may designate a local hospice anywhere in the country to receive 50% of the net proceeds you raise. The other 50% goes to the National Hospice Foundation.

If a family member or friend was cared for by a hospice program, this is the chance to say “thank you." What better way than to be part of The Bourbon Chase!
